CATALOGS RAISONNÉS

The activity of archiving Lucio Fontana’s works, which began after the artist’s death, was from the very beginning an essential tool for the systematization of his production and enabled the creation of a series of catalogs raisonnés, edited by Enrico Crispolti.

All editions of the catalogs have been promoted by the foundation and produced in close collaboration with the curators. They are fundamental tools of research, the outcome of careful work on the recognition of works, bibliographic-exhibit and documentary research, which is constantly evolving and being updated.

The series is organized into several volumes that present Fontana’s production through a chronological and, within this, typological or thematic unfolding: from the first catalog, dedicated to sculptures, paintings, and environments of which three editions edited by Enrico Crispolti (1974, 1986, 2006) have been produced, to the publications edited by Luca Massimo Barbero and respectively dedicated to works on paper (2013) and ceramic sculptures (2022).
